If you want to make a liqueur, you have to sweeten it. The most easy and
commonly used method is to replace some of the water by a sugar syrup.
Basic sugar syrup (1 liter)
1 kg Sugar
1 gram of Citric Acid
Water
Dissolve 1 kg of sugar in 0,45 liter of water.
Bring the water/sugar
mixture to a gently boil and add 1 gram of citric acid.
Boil for another 10
more minutes and let it cool.
This will give you a sugar sirop which will not cristalize
back in to solid sugar particules when you mix it with your home made
alcohol.
