Step 5:

Connect the new bottom to the kettle. Prior to do so, I have made a 90 degrees angle on the border of the flat  copper panel by using a hammer and an old floor tile. (by the way, you can see one of my other kettles in the top right corner)

Step 6: 

As vapor needs to exit the kettle, measure the size of the column connecting ring and saw a hole in the top of the kettle. Finding a connecting ring is usually the most complicated part.

Step 8:

The connector has been fitted to the top of the kettle and I have sandpapered the copper so it looks a bit better. 

Now we can move on to the construction of the column.
