Georgia Type Still
(steam powered)

The Georgia type still is a very effective medium sized still which was used in moonshine operations.  The still was steam powered driven.  The steam was produced by a boiler, which was sometimes portable.

The steam passes into a double-stacked mash barrel, heating these units into boiling temperature, where the vapor passes into a third mash barrel. The accumulated vapor and water are of a (very) high strength and are further doubled in the doubler before reaching the condenser. The condenser is in this case (see image below) a double-wall copper shell. Alternatively a car radiator or worm coil was used.
